CULTURE

CREATIVE
ART CLUB

Art Club is a creative space for the juniors to explore their creative growth outside of the curriculum. The fun comes in learning artistic skills which lead to the creation of individual and collaborative art projects throughout the year. Art Club serves as a way to develop our Art Department by growing our juniors.

MUSIC

Music is an integral part of the Culture facet of Danville.  Danville Voices, the school choir, has had the honour of singing at many events including the Toyota Retirees Function as well as the City Address given by the Mayor, both of which were at the ICC.  Their unique blend of modern and traditional songs and passionate delivery have played a part in their growing reputation and popularity as a choir.

We are also very proud of our Amagugu Singers who recently performed at the Zululand Eisteddfod, and who always shine at our school functions.

The Danville Band is an exciting new addition to our cultural offerings.

DRAMA

The Drama Department is always immersed in the excitement and challenge of fresh performances. 2025 will prove to be an exciting year for our Drama Department with the production of FAME: The Musical in our very own state-of-the-art Milkwood Theatre.

MEDIA

NEWS@DANVILLE

Our news@Danville team connects our school to the world through social media, creating the visual face of who we are and what we do. These are our content creators turning our photographs and videos into visual stories for all to see.

PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB

The Photography Club sees our learners become experts in drawing with light as they turn their school experiences and surroundings into works of art. Our most accomplished photographers become our school Photography Monitors, guiding our newer photographers in their learning journey and act as official school photographers.

RELIGIOUS & HERITAGE SOCIETIES

Our various religious societies meet during the school day.

·       Students’ Christian Association

·       Hindu Students’ Association

·       Muslim Students’ Association

Amagugu Heritage Society

The Amagugu Heritage Society is a group of girls who come together to learn more about the traditional customs of the isiZulu culture, mainly dance. The girls produce dance routines across different genres, such as traditional, gqom and gumboot dances.

PUBLIC SPEAKING

DEBATING

The debating season is always a busy one for our Senior team and a growing Junior team who participate in the Durban Coastal Debating League (DCDL).

Danville selects a Debating team every year to represent the school at the annual National All Girls’ School Festival.
