At the entrance to the school, you will notice this statue.  The gift left to the school by the Matric Body of 2009 has come to symbolise our girls’ immense love and pride in being Danville Girls.  As she sits in all her pride watching over our beloved school, The Danville Lioness embodies the characteristics of dignity, selflessness, perseverance and resoluteness.  She is of true altruism, putting the needs of her pride before her own.  Above all, in her stride, her self-respect and honour is unmistakable.

Such characteristics are ones that we hope will be evident in every young woman as she one day leaves Danville and takes her rightful place in the world.  She begins her high school journey as a cub; there is still much growth to experience and lessons to be learnt.  However, as she develops and finds her identity under the wings of our remarkable school, so she will gradually transform into a young woman who has come to exemplify all that Danville and our lioness stand for.  She will strive to embody their remarkable qualities, so that she too will be able to say, ‘I had arrived a cub, but now I depart a lioness ready to take on the unknown!’
