Art

Art Enrichment provides time in the Art Room for the senior Visual Arts learners to work on their current artworks. This is an extension of the usual art practical lessons which enables our enthusiastic artists to receive personal attention from our Art teachers.
We also welcome aspiring artists who were unable to accommodate Visual Art in their subject package, to work on drawings and paintings under the guidance of the Art teachers.

Art Club always has an exciting start to their year. Last year the girls prepared wooden blocks for the Art from Waste Campaign. The blocks had to create a floral pattern but incorporate elements of waste into the design. The Grade 9s and 10s submitted various large-scale mixed media waste projects for Art to Waste. Their work was exhibited at the La Lucia Mall, with five of our girls winning exciting La Lucia Mall vouchers for their innovative work. Terms three and four were all about creativity and expression, with the girls making watercolour postcards and self-portraits.

During the course of the year, our Grade 10 learners took on the challenge of painting a container on the field with vibrant South African images.
