Mrs Maddams was invited to attend the National Education Excellence Awards Ceremony at the Presidential Guest House in Pretoria on 1 April 2016. This ceremony recognises excellence in education at a national level and is hosted by the Minister of Education, Angie Motsheka. It is a prestigious event attended by top dignitaries from around the country.
The pinnacle award is the trophy awarded to the top performing school in South Africa and we are very proud that Danville Park was named South Africa’s Top Performing Public School, together with Eunice High School (in Bloemfontein) who tied with us in first place.
Danville’s 132 pupils in the Class of 2015 achieved a 100% pass rate and a 100% Bachelors pass rate, the highest in South Africa. What makes this such a remarkable achievement is that every girl in Matric at Danville excelled and earned the opportunity to study at a university. This achievement tops the 4 times our girls have achieved a 99% Bachelors pass rate since 2008. This level of excellence is not unusual at Danville with a sustained 100% pass rate for 22 years and an average of 98% pass rate for admission to a Bachelor’s Degree.
We were delighted to receive recognition for these results which are the consummation of the efforts of our motivated and receptive pupils and their supportive parents. Our inspirational staff, visionary management team and supportive Governing Body are united in their vision to provide Danville girls with the very best in educational practice, igniting intellectual curiosity in their girls every day and inspiring them to reach their full potential.
